A lower-end detective story

Although inspired by the film of same name starring Al Pacino and Robert de Niro, the game has nothing to do with it. It's simply the sequel of Righteous Kill #1 which... didn't have anything in common with the movie either. Erika, an NYPD Detective is on the trail of a serial killer who leaves notes behind him on every crime scene. The game consists in visiting various locations searching for clues, obtaining key items and searching through HO Scenes. However, various activities are not without interest; they belong to the forensics field, such as taking blood samples, comparing bullets in the lab, identifying a suspect or reconstructing DNA chains. The game is long with 11 chapters but, unfortunately, awfully repetitive. You keep revisiting the same scenes over and over in search for basically always the same sort of item, and even though ending back on the same scenes is justified by the story, seeing the same decor several times rapidly becomes tedious. Hints are unlimited but they point at a hotspot and not at the item you're looking for. The game starts off in quite a nice way but loses steam as the story draws towards the ending which is quite unexpected . The dialogs don't add much to the storyline, acting more as fillers than as pertinent illustrations of the plot. Intro and cutscenes are very basic and the graphics are okay but a bit cheap looking. Far from being as good as the Women's Murder Club series and miles away from the quality of Art of Murder, this game is probably satisfying for HOG lovers [ whom my recommendation is addressed to] but disappointing for aficionados of adventures and detective stories.

Cut the interruptions with the dialogue

The dialogue interruptions are many and 1 click rarely clears the screen. Many, many times you have to click multiple times to get rid of it.

Longest, most boring game possible

This is the first negative review I have written and I truly hope I don't have occasion to ever have to write another. I repetitiveness nearly drove me crazy. The writers set up certain scenes and we visited each over and over and over. I wanted to just quit and delete it, but I really had to find out for sure whether this game ever ended or whether I was caught in an endless loop. If you are somewhere in the middle, hang in there if you can handle the boredom, it will finally end. The mini-games also repeated, weren't very challenging and pretty much bored my socks off. If there is a bright spot here, it is that the graphics were pretty good. The sound was boring and repetitive. This is apparently modeled after a TV show. After playing this game, I would not consider watching the show. Detectives this slow would surely be back on the beat.

Too Repetitious

At first, the game provided a bit of fun with the combination of hidden object and actual puzzles and activities to perform in order to catch the killer. However, the main character had to go back to the same scenes so many time it was ridiculous. Quite a few times the story line did not make sense or was not logical.
