Wow, what a FUN game!

Why aren't there more games like this one? I like this older style of game play! The puzzles were fun, some were challenging. The graphics were good, but some parts could have been better. I haven't played the other NB games yet, hopefully they are as fun as this one! It is a bit on the short side, but the enjoyment of playing makes up for it. It's a really fun adventure from beginning to end!

like the serie a lot!

some times it gets challenging, but that's where the fun comes from.

solid game..

Among the three NB series, this one is probably the most well developed in terms of story and interface. It's probably the very beginning of Alawar success of HOG games. This game is combination of HOG and adventure and it was quite fun. Skip and hint button are quite useful. The game length is fine, but the chapters seem to get shorter and shorter as it progresses. I think I finished the game in less than 3 hours. The last chapter took about 5 minutes. I don't recall Alawar makes another game in the series but I think 3 in NB series is enough. Time to move on and glad that I bought this game!

Enjoyable Game

I enjoy the Natalie Brooks series. They are fun and well-made games.

Surprisingly Good Little Gem

BF does not know what it's doing by not marketing this little gem of a game better. I stumbled upon it and decided, what the heck, I'll try it. Storyline: You (Natalie) receive a cryptic note from a long ago schoolmate named Chad. You find a cache with a secret note from way back when that instructs you how to read a hidden message. Steam the letter. So, you find Grandma's old iron (and I mean seriously old) and steam the letter. Hidden there is a cry for help and an address to an art gallery. You get to the art gallery and meet someone who looks like Chad - but doesn't act like him. That's because he's a doppelganger and the real Chad is being kidnapped. But you're too late to stop it! Ultimately, you find your way to Kitty's boat - is she his friend or girlfriend? Possibly only her hairdresser knows for sure - LOL. Y'all are probably too young to remember that commercial. In any case, you get to the boat and Kitty has been locked in the .... whatever you call the downstairs of a boat .... sorry, I am not a nautical person. You rescue Kitty, explain who you are and that Chad has been kidnapped. But, there's been a bomb planted on the boat. You find all the scuba gear and off you go down deep in the ocean to find the bomb. Now, you are both ready to get to the lighthouse and rescue Chad - but another bomb blows up and you have to put out the fire and pump the water out of the boat. Then, you're off. And, finally, you get to the lighthouse where something else has happened (another explosion?) and Kitty is hurt. End of demo. Graphics: Not cartoony, per se, perhaps a bit comic bookish? Difficult to describe but the colors are amazing and the atmosphere is totally on the spot whether you're on the boat or at the art gallery. Sound: No voiceovers, you have to read everything. Background music was ok - I'm a grandma and have learned to tune things out a long time ago. Sorry. Sound effects, however, were perfect. HOGs: Aplenty - everywhere and for everything. Sometimes t

INTERESTING STORYLINE IS THE BEST PART

Strange: a high school friend sends a letter to Natalie to meet him at an art gallery, then doesn't recognize her or even get her name right? What's going on? Suddenly, he's kidnapped. Gameplay is rather simplistic - walks you through what you have to do - find this, then find that, and now you finally have the parts to open a door. Hints on what to do (such as "what if I rehang pictures that were taken down") are also given. Seems to be little challenge other than finding sometimes small objects in a large and crowded environment for a puzzle. HOS are also really crowded and objects are a bit hard to find if not brightly colored. An intermediate or expert HOG player would find the game much too easy, but might buy it just to find out what happened to Chad and why.
